when will Brasil give their final answer???
F-35 wont be ready for sales outside the original partners in the 2014 timescale.
There will be an evaluation and most likely the companies will deploy some planes in Brazil for testings and demonstrations. Maybe we will hear some trends around 2010.
Oh, bloody hell. Brazilians trying to steal our Thunder!!!!
PS: There is a good chance MMRCA might be increased to 200, and that's not because of the brazilians, lol.
Not a favourite perhaps since I think there's a bit of an underlying twin-engine bias.
Our experiences are of course different with Gripen alledgely having the highest operational availability in NATO, and I think now some 120,000 flight hours without an engine failure, which all-in-all is pretty freaking awesome.
Brazil is a huge country and as for range I believe the range of JAS 39 Gripen NG in most or many configurations superseeds that of the F/A-18-E/F Super Hornet as well as the Eurofighter Typhoon.
Bolovo, Thor and herman the german.
thank you guys.
I read Rafale was looking very good for Brazil because french government is ready to Total technology transfer and assembly line in Brazil and Dassault worked with Embraer in the past.
Anybody can confirm?
according to my sources yes.
But SAAB/Sweden signed a TOT agreement with India and similar production possibilities, so i bet they will offer the same to Brasil.
and the Dassult team must be desperate by now.
especially after the statement to Indian officials a couple of months ago.
@ gripen_39, others.
Not to pee on a party but this thread is meant for all News and relevant info on the JAS 39 Gripen family.
Not really for arguments as to what jet some countries should buy. I.e no jet vs. jet discussions plz.
There's plenty of other places for that kind of talk.
