Looks like K-6 series.
Great pics Roman.....
Can you tell us, what type of the tac vests do they have?
thnx.
Ok some do use knee pads, but what percentage of the whole force does that? Look at the photos that RomanS posted of soldiers with kneepads, its one soldier with and the rest without. He probably got it himself with his own money.Originally Posted by mack pl

to be frank I am not sure what the whole argument re: knee pads, goggles, western equipment etc. is about !??! i think it stems form the fact that most of you r armchair warriors ( apologies to the serving members
1st of all for eg. you will se many IDF soldiers/special forces in worn out gear , carrying well used rifles, with no knee pads etc. but they would represent formidable opponent for any foe, actually I would bet my money on them against most of the adversaries in conventional conflict ..
2nd most of the gear the guys on the photo r wearing is actually russian, their helmets are russian produced (those same helmets(in green though) have been in production for nearly some 30 years), their guns are russian, so are the uniforms and bullet-proof vests probably, some gadgetry might not be russian- big deal - maybe they are evaluating them to see how they compares to their russian produced staff and to apply the "lessons learned" to their own gear or maybe they like it/like posing in it..
3rd if you seriously think that country that can produce some of the most advanced submarines and rockets this earth has ever seen can't produce "modualr assault vest in black and some knee pads" than you r seriously delusional to say the least.........
this is russian made modular vest of excellent quality I believe(I know guy who got his hands on one)...dont think it "lags" in any way when compared to its "western" counterparts..
what we have to keep in mind is that during soviet times..russians didn't pay much attention to the individual infantryman / SF's equipement, let alone esthetics as long as it was durable and it preformed solidly in the field it was deemed fine(solid workhorse)! i.e. there weren't same market forces shaping and driving/pushing the market forward/ no domestic/foreign competition(which no doubt is healthy for economy - although IMHO this might have gone bit far here in the "west", but hey no system is perfect) as it was the case in the west. Thats why they had/have "boring" looking RD54 soldiers backpack for eg. But with mkt. forces slowly but surely impregnating russia since early 90's, this is changing (it wouldn't come as a surprise that in future some "western" country orders some russian gear for it's armed forces).... this same logic can by applied to almost any russian/soviet product, be it civilian or military
and finally Roman thnax for the photos.
