    Cold War Era Military Artwork

Cold War era military artwork from the Military Art Collection of the United States Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA). Because there are so many of them and because the military art thread seems to be more concentrated on selfmade art I decided to start a new thread.

Sweet photos! Some are really good artwork. I'd like to see others than soviet ones as well.

    What fond memories

I remember having some of these in some numbers of an Italian decence magazine called RID, from the mid 80's, in articles about development of Soviet forces. Gorbachev had just come to power or was about to. So much water under the bridges since.

Boy I miss the Cold War

The good old days of the Soviet Union....
Imagine if all these weaponry were created and entered service today
The Red Army would be a large and fearsome force!

LOL I remembered some of those from school. Our school library believe it or not got the DIA Soviet military threat handbook of 1986 and those pics scared the living daylights out of me and some of my friends because we never knew the Soviets had such sophisticated weaponry and you couldnt tell us schoolboys then that they were not going to use them.

Thanks for the flashback with those pics, I miss those days too it was a time of wonderment and discovery.
