beret don’t offer any protection for the face against sun so my beret did spend more time in my left pocket than on my head.so Field cap al the way
I have asked this question a few times to guys who wear those berets, What ever happen to the propellor that was on top?
For Parades/Base use, I would rather have Forage Caps or Kepis
Than the Officers 'Crush Cap'
I think Berets are suited more to Paratroops/Commandos or SF Units
Most Army Regiments should just use these

In Oki some of us took it to momma san to get the points stitch so they would always look sharp. Was not authorise for inspection though.
Yeah I see guys w/boonies slanting like berets and all over the place. Kinda unsat looking.
I LOVED my beret, thank god they let me keep it. its not supposed to keep the sun from your eyes or the rain off your shoulder. it looks good (if you form it right) the american pre-formed ones look like shat that is why I allways hear them complaining about them, here in canada its kinda an individual thing. in uniform everyone looks the same but the way you have your beret is different (poor bloody RCR)
It certainly looks nice with a beret, but the only armed forces in
the world who knows how to wear them in a sharp manner is
the French.
