I hope Jackson sticks to the story (unlike LOTR), he is playing with my childhood memories of the characters and I hope it lives up to the hype.

Sweet Aidan Turner as Kili. I liked him in Being Human.

You are high man, Jackson's LOTR was genius, and probably the best translation from book to film we will ever see from a tolkein tale...and if he does half as well with the Hobbit, we are blessed.

    I agree,

though it smarts he did not add Tom Babodil(sp).

Can you imagine if he took up the other stories in the LOTR universe?

    seraosha, X2

    Speaking of which...

Dwarf Lords in their own right, Balin and Dwalin are close relatives of Thorin. Beyond this, these brothers are two of his most loyal and trusted friends. An old warrior, Balin has lived through hard times and fought many battles, yet he harbors doubts about the wisdom of the Quest to retake the Lonely Mountain. Dwalin has no such forebodings – his belief in Thorin's leadership is unshakeable. A powerful and bruising fighter, with a natural tendency to distrust anyone who is not a Dwarf, particularly anyone who might be an Elf, Dwalin is not someone to cross lightly.

You hit it square with that assesment...Good 'Ol Tom was missed, but as for the films...yeah, just another character.

you know what I'm really really really looking forward to?

the Trolls...I've read the books to both daughters now, and we ALWAYS re-read the Trolls scene and the guessing game under the mountain with gollum. And the 'mines of moria' passage in lotr, takes a couple nights but worth it when it's bedtime stories.

    Ok, enough blather

I'm really posting it just because of Mila Kunis' side-boob.

Russell's character isn't in this film, nor is anyone from the JC film. They just threw another in Helicopter pilot who happens to be American.
