Snyder might be trying something new with his directing, this is what a teaser is meant to be.
I know it's just a teaser but they're laying it on pretty thick. I predict a massive dud.
I know better since the Superman Returns trailer, it fooled many people. Which is still one of my favorite trailers I've seen honestly. My fear is DC seems to be trying to make this brooding Supes that just doesn't fit, people can argue about bringing him into the modern era but I just don't know. Snyder had a major dud with Sucker Punch, so he needs this to work for him.
^I agree. Somewhere there is a committee of execs drawing only the most superficial conclusions as to why Nolan's Batman was successful, and you can be sure they're pushing like mad to ensure that the same brand of "grittiness" and pathos is superimposed on Snyder's Supes (in spades) without any real understanding as to what makes Superman popular, or what people expect. It takes a sense of balance and inventiveness, and a real commitment to one's own vision to successfully reintroduce a character as popular as Superman, and I kinda doubt Snyder has it in him. As you say, Suckerpunch is hanging over him, and you can be sure he's going to do what he can to salvage his bankability.

As far as I'm concerned a guy in a leotard can't be gritty no matter how much Zack Snyder is involved.

Too true. Iron Man was refreshingly funny, but anything else I didn't like at all.
The LOTR music in the trailer I thought fit the mood exceptionally well. Looking forward to the movie as well
