    Danish soldiers deployed in Afghanistan

    3 soldiers injured

3 danish soldiers where injured when their vehicle struck a mine saturday night in the southen part of Afghanistan. The incident happend when danish forces where advancing to an area they where to take control of.

The injured soldiers where evacuated by a british helicopter and where taken to Camp Bastion to receive medical care.

    In battle

Earlier that night danish forces where engaged in a battle with elements of Taliban. 2 vehicles where pursuing the danish column but they disappeared when warning shots where fired. Shortly after the incident the danish column was ambushed from 3 sides.

The danes returned fire with light hand weapons and heavy machineguns.
Under the fighting there was called in airsupport and a number of bombs where dropped.

The attack was rejected and the attackers fleed the scene. There where no casualties on the danish side. Other then a hit vehicle there was no immediate knowledge about losses on the attackers side.

After this the danish operation continued and it was under this advance a danish vehicle struck a mine.

    The danish contingent

The danish contingent in the southen part of Afghanistan deployed to the afghan Helmand province has started their task of creating peace and stability in the region. A larger danish force with the 1. light Opklaringseskadron from Gardehusarregimentet in the lead have been deployed in the troubled region.

The force have left Camp Bastion and with help from aghan police and military it is to create peace and stability in a area in the norhten part of the region. The danish forces are in close co-operation with other allied forces in the area to solve the mission.

Not sure how you'd mark them out of ten. We are not the country to produce good troops.

To be fair, they have been deployed to the Balkans, and the ones I've been on ex with were quite competent. Until I get told otherwise, I'd assume that they were reasonable troops.
