Yep, 85th it is, thanx to all for the replies. Mods may close anytime.
So a cousin of mine who is a US Army Cold War/Desert Storm vet was saying the other day that he remembers seeing a US Army SSI patch that had a unicorn on it. Any idea what unit that was from?
Found a tin with some military Flashes in it that I picked up over the years,
while I recognise many and remember where I got them, a couple are
unknown to me.
Above Column 1, left side reading from top to bottom:-
Sweden X 2, Romanian Airforce, Norway, Unknown Navy.
Column 2:-Canada X 3, Germany, Unknown Para wing possibly British. British R.M.C. from Desert Storm.
Column 3 and 3a:- German X 10, GHANA.
Column 4:- USA X 4, Unknown X 2
Column 5:- Ireland 18th Inf Bn (Reserve), Ireland 2 star Rank marking, awarded after completing Recruit training. Romanian x 3, bottom Blue oval, possibly from a Spanish beret for an Armored Unit.
Connaught Ranger.
The para wings are British - the background looks to be navy blue - which would make them RAF (probably 2Sqn RAF Regt given that they've been cut down). RN wings have a darker, almost black background.
The RM desert badge isn't. It's the combined Ops badge - until 3 or 4 years ago it was generally worn by shiny arsed remfing tri-service staff officers from PJHQ and the like
The one with a 3 bladed propeller is an RAF Regiment rank badge for a Senior Aircraftsman (SAC). It should be presented so that the bottom prop blade points down vertically such that the three blades form a Y shape.

@ Royal and Scorchio, many thanks for the id's
Connaught Ranger.
The AMF badges represent Allied Command Europe Mobile Force - Land - a NATO quick reaction force. (More information on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ACE_Mob...rce_%28Land%29.) Big part of my childhood! Plenty of AMF bits around here. Trained for action in Norway, it was a bit of a change for my father and squadmates when, in the middle of a open day for the public in 1990, they were told they'd be off to Saudi within a few days!
I have been trying to run down the unit that this patch belongs tos without luck. Anyone have an idea of the unit/country of origin?
I also have these that I am trying to ID. The one on the left should be from KFOR/SFOR in Kosavo but I am clueless as to the others. The round patch is velcro backed and all were picked up from a MARSOC operator in Jacksonville, NC.

The first picture is a patch for The European Military Parachute Association.
Based on the dragon in the background and some other indicators, the round patch seems to have some association with the French 1st Marine Infantry Parachute Regiment, specifically the 3rd company who are know as the PATSAS:
