All your other identifications are correct.
Thank you speedyhedgehog, I appreciate that!
Thanks a bunch guys. It really made my day.
He doesn't talk about his service much, and I know better than to ask him, but knowing these things (and a quick glance at the 15th Support Brigade's wikipedia page) really tied a lot together for me. Hopefully some day I can scan some of his boxes of slides and share them (I haven't seen them myself since I was maybe ten years old).
thanks Laconian. I agree the airborne patch is a cool one...obviously a glider shown on the patch....I didn't know which way the bayonet was supposed to point, but that makes perfect sense. I have another one that is the "follow me" patch, from Infantry school I believe, sword point up.
Pretty much every patch in the US Army has the sword, arrow, or bayonet pointing up, not down...except for 2, I think.
ZOMFG!
The Engineer patch is the First Engineer Battalion, U.S. Army of which I was assigned to at Fort Riley, Kansas from 80 to 82. It's the engineer unit of the Big Red One.
Charlie company was just about wiped out in Viet Nam and their dog tags hung from a plaque in our mess hall.
"First of the Worst" as we used to call it. I was in Echo Company in the AVLB and CEV platoon as a Commander.
We had a Combat Engineer company, a Heavy Equipment company and a Mobile Assault Bridge company also.
The 1st Engineer Battalion is the oldest and most decorated engineer battalion in the United States Army.

You really didn't want to get stuck carrying the Battalion Guidon...too many streamers.

thank you Loganinkosovo! That makes sense....that patch came with some big red one patch from my brother who was in the engineers before being sent to the 1st cav in korea. I think he was in the engineers at Fort Riley, but may be wrong on the location.
I have no idea how he picked up the Follow Me infantry patch, it looks older than he is.
I am very glad to learn about the engineers patch as that one has puzzled me for decades!
Can anybody identify the patch, another forum said this is Greek, but i dont think ive ever seen the patch

It's a Greek one. Look at the woman military photos thread somewhere.
