Generally no...they have the capability like most infantry related units...but mainly they as said before stick to building schools etc...in somalia they flew around in UH-60 Black Hawks fixed with with loud speakers....in Iraq/A-stan...they have established radio programs in order to educate the locals on the misson of the coalition forces in their nation...and to lessen hostilities between the locals and coalition forces....and also to convince them to vote etc...

For the patch you showed, it has a cannon, so chances are its gonna be field artillery. Type in field artillery SSI in google images an search around. Theres also an official US Army site that lists all the SSIs used in AD, ARNG an Reserves, so just search around that.
Plus, a lot of the SSI I already know, mainly AD units though.
