Just a couple of pics, I don't aggree with having to do this. But I understand alot of people lie about being in the military.

Hopefully this clears a few things up.

    explain please.

    pointy-end of what?

Is he deployed in Iraq or Afghanistan because if that is the case then so what I've done 2 tours of Iraq, does that mean I was at the pointy-end?.
By the looks of things I'll be sent to afghanistan soon anyway.

so please explain the meaning of being at the pointy-end?.

I too used to be a gpmg gunner... In the UK do they teach you how to fire it in the indirect fire role? Which Unit are you with...
Oh yeah and pointy end usually means SF or SOF...

Pointy-end= trigger puller, killing people and breaking things, infantry, armor, combat engineer, combat medic, SF-type, frequent direct fire engagements, etc....

    Non-pointy end= everbody else.

yea we still use it in Indirect fire up to 2km. I'm trained as gunner they also trained me as a Sniper so I could do the forward observing part of it aswell.

As for peolple claiming to be SF I have no time for fools. If they were SF they would honour the code and keep the mouths shut about it. If they come on chat forums and start flapping about their unit, then they are a disgrace to their unit and their country, people like that make me sick to my guts they really do.

I certainly never said ****e about SF. Most folks I know in that game ( and I know a few ) are very closed mouthed. What I meant by pointy-end is that he is currently deployed to Astan and I don't think you'll find him working the steam-line at the mess hall ( not that theres anything wrong with that.....please dont spit in my food cooks. ).

Yes he is and yes it does. As for the so what? Well I just find that those of us who choke down the same fecal laced dust as one another usualy show each other a bit of respect.

    Why?

If you were, a true, experienced proffesional soldier, who has taken fire..

You would have known that there was no real way you could properly judge what was going on.

(Actually, if you were a reasonable, intelligent "civive".. you'd figure that out as well.)

So, I can only conclude *at least* 1 of 4 things:

    You're a fakin idiot.

    You're 12

    You're a poser, a liar, a fake...

Or, you're a WOG, a REMF, a uniform who's closest "combat" experience was live fire drills.

So, in the immortal words of W.O. Edward R. Slovinsky..

    Fak off!
I show respect to my fellow brothers and sisters in arms but his comment has put Any chance of respect right out the window buddy.
