    Mexican M82A1 Special force?

I got a photo titled 'Mexican M82A1 Special Force'. I think this is wierd. Is there any special force only uses anti-material rifle? What for? And I heard that M82A1 is kinda expensive rifle. I think Mexico is not a lavish country and will not use that much money on purchasing these. But I don't know much about military uniforms and I cannot recognize where they are. Anyone knows about this?

(At first I posted this on equipment and someone told me that it'll be better to post this on pics, so I moved it)

Man that barrell on the center guy's rifle looks twisted a little. Check out the muzzle break. I though maybe his whole rifle was canted but looks perpendicular to the ground. Maybe its just a trick of the eye.

It's a Mexican SOF unit equipped with only Barret M82A1's as their primary weapon. . . Just kidding. Man, it would suck to march holding those.

.50 sniper rifles can be used to destroy gereators, cars and damage light armored APCs and stuff. Plus you can destroy a generator, a antena from a long distance. These rifles are the future for special operations, cuz with them you dont need to send a demo team in, you can just shoot the target from a distance (not always, but some targets, yes). The record kill was made by a Canadian sniper shooting from
    McMillan TAC-50 (12.7 mm). 2430 meters kill !

And SEALs use the .50 cal, DELTA, SF etc.

yeah i know material rifles are pretty useful. but it'll be waste of money equipping that many rifles in one unit, huh? and it doesn't looks like a fake pic.

so how much M82A1 cost per unit?

From what I can see it's only the first two rows of guys with M82A1's, the rest of the guys are carrying a different type of rifle but I can't tell what it is.

Most likely they took out almost every M82A1 in inventory for the parade. I doubt they would ever be deployed with that many in one op. or one unit.

By the way, it's a common misconception that Mexico is a poor country. It's actually quite wealthy. It just has some seriously poor regions.

Yes those are Mexican S.F and of course they donīt use the barret as primary weapon.
During parades they carry some weapons just for show, (although the show last for like 10 km of marching) the use a pletora of weapons and uniforms in combat ops.

Ask Gafes to show some pics

You're right, it looks like the buttstock of the M16.
But I dunno about the nationality

i saw the two row of M82A1 too, but i thought 2~3 anti-material rifle per one unit will be resonable. but it looks like they have over 6 guns. and i didn't said that mexico is a poor country.

well anyway i found that they are real mexican SOF, GAFE. and it says they use M82A1. thanks everyone.
