Why need MSMC (5.56X30), when we have Kalantak 5.56x45mm, carbine versions of the Regular Insas, Its deigned is for (CQB) situations....

Insas and Kalantak both use 5.56x45mm, therefore no problem in logistics!!

Is there any strong reason for developing both weapons together??

Ps. MSMC (PDW) is just a waste of money, NSG and SPG won’t go for it as MP5 & its PWD version is widely used in both branches...

They are working on it !! ... As we already seen some digital camos in BSF, Soon Indian Army will have !!

Very different requirements. the MSMC is meant to be a cheap alternative and NOT targeted towards special forces. 5.56X45 in a shortened barrel (like a carbine) looses its muzzle velocity hence a 30 was tested. This weapon is mainly meant to replace the 9mm sterling and Uzi used by police and the military police close protection detail such as those of the senior staff.

Also kalantak was ****e to intense heating of the barrel which was also seen in the micro-galil or MAR-galil.
