Sweden is pitching for this competition it's latest ARCHER artillery and so far in all the tests conducted in India it is leading. India has it's towed version the FH-77D so this weapon has an edge over other contenders for this contract.
I strongly hope India choses this weapon as it is a superb piece of equipment.

Remembering last time India bought Swedish artillery one must wonder if the ARCHER really is the best, or if the good people of Bofors used bribes again.

The problem that was there was political problem because in India in order for certain sections to prevail(who wants to continue corruption process) they favour the middleman process while purchasing equipment from abroad instead of directly approaching the firm selling the equipment. This is where the problem happens. But the Indian Army is strongly supporting the Bofors guns and are with this weapon as this particular weapon proved itself beyond expectation in the Kargil War. After the sheer will-power of our soldiers it was this weapon which won the war for us.

India's original Su-30 variants were the Su-30K, not the Su-30M. Those have since been returned to Russia and replaced by the MKI
