i wanted to know how the muslim minority in india can take part in the military?are they kindda banned to earn high positions or not?!

Muslims can apply in military service just like any other Indian citizen. India is a secular country there is no ban on anyone to earn a high position in military service. Everyone is treated as equal.

P.S iran and india have been very good friends eversince i could remember,were allways thankfull for upgrading our mig29s indian brothers,and theres an abundance of iranians in indian universitys.

INdian army is secular as the nation itself, BUT muslims are not encouraged to go for the TOP post! its an unmentioned, unwritten rule in the INdian army!

there had been many senior posts of army held by parsi, jew, sikh, christian, hindu but never by a muslim!

What are you saying !! Their are fewer Muslim defense personal compare to Hindu Defense personal in Army...... Their is a big competition between officers for better ranks !! even between us in army their are very few ones made their journey to Brigadier !! lol ....... Its not about religion but a Hard competition for ranks !!

Superiority to enemy will be achieved by equipping the average ground-based combat soldier with an integrated set of high-technology uniforms and equipment. These will be linked to an array of real-time and archived battlefield information resources. Soldiers will require not only enhanced versions of existing equipment (rifle, pistol, knife, helmet, armour, clothing), but also new forms of equipment that will become possible as new types and combination of technologies become viable for battlefield deployment.


The kit is aimed to cover 5 main areas:

• Command and Control
• Lethality
• Mobility
• Survivability
• Sustainability

Helmet and Visor

The helmet is composed of three components: head protection, communication headset and optronic equipment,
The helmet is an integrated assembly equipped with thermal sensors, video cameras and chemical and biological sensors. The visor is intended to be integrated and to act as a heads-up display monitor equivalent to two 17-inch computer monitors.

Clothing

The personal clothing of this soldier of the future would be lightweight with a bullet-proof jacket. The futuristic jacket would be waterproofed yet breathable. The new attire that will enable the troops carry the extra load and resist impact of chemical warfare. The new uniform will have vests with sensors to monitor their health parameters and provide quick medical relief plus
Bellows pockets provide ample carrying capacity. The material (fabric) offers good mechanical properties......

The fibres are flame- and wash-resistant.
The flak jacket accommodates:

• Flexible ballistic protection
• Hard ballistic protection
• Electronic jacket
• Load-bearing structure.

Weapons

Procurement requests for the 'open calibre' carbines is valued at around INR44 billion (USD1.1 billion) have been initiated with global manufacturers. The weapons sub-system is built around a dual caliber assault rifle with the second caliber attached to a grenade launcher. The sub-system includes a thermal weapon sight and laser range finder to provide the soldier with range and direction information. The Global Positioning System location information, allows the soldier can call for indirect fire accurately. There are two types of next generation infantry rifle under development in cooperation with Israel.

Accessories

The soldier will be equipped with a palmtop to be able to communicate with other soldiers, and will be aware of the battlefield. The palmtop will tell the soldier where others are in relation to themselves. It will also enable them to transfer messages.
Thermal imagers, sensors and night vision equipment, currently deployed in weapon systems such as artillery and main battle tanks, will be customized to make them portable for soldiers to carry in the battle ground.
