DOA. A friend of mine said the story line was like the games but i cant say ive never played them.

Except for the plastic of Holly Valance and a few others that movie felt like Street Fighter

    Casa de Areia/House of Sand

A slow-paced, visually "beautiful" Brazilian film (ahh I loved hearing Portuguese!) about a family in the early 1900s who moves to the harsh desert environment of Maranhão (I put beautiful in quotations because to us the moving sand looks nice and postcard worthy but in reality there is biting wind, stifling heat, sand that stings your eyes, etc). It's a powerful movie about connections between people, especially family, and the cyclical nature of life. One interesting and risky move made by the director was the use of actors for more than one character, but it's only confusing for a minute. It really adds to the theme of cycles in life.

The main actors are Fernanda Torres, Fernanda Montenegro, Seu Jorge. Torres, the younger woman, is spectacular...Seu Jorge isn't in it all that much but he does a nice job as a lonely man named Massu.

Just came back from watching Deutschland - ein Sommermärchen.
    (Germany - a Summer Fairytale)

Documentary. Filmmaker joined the national team for 2 months. Behind the scenes stuff. Shivers. When the crucial moments of the italian game were shown and the players devastaded in the lockerroom you couldn't hear a single word in the theatre. I think the girl next to me had tears in her eyes.

I've seen that and Patriot Games countless times. Pretty good.
I basically know the entire script in Clear and Present Danger.
The ambushed convoy scene is actually pretty powerful I think.
