    Tape 407 (or Area 407): 4.5/10

It started pretty well, actually (if you can handle shaky cloverfield style camera and "found footage" movies) but then it went straight downhill, ending in a big WTF moment (in a bad way).
I'd rate the first 40 minutes 7/10 and the rest if it 2/10.

    Seeking Justice
After his wife (January Jones) was raped, a high school teacher (Nicholas Cage) enlists a vigilante (Guy Pearce) to avenge the crime - not realizing the price of the intriguing offer...

I still don't like Cage and the flick could've perfectly done without the typical "best friend turns traitor and later dies to make ammends"-twist. However, I think the negative reception was not justified. I'd give it a 6.99/10.

That's too bad. Can you say in what way it sucked? I saw a preview where Mustangs were shooting up a battleship, which made me laugh.

I'm personally really tired of all the "triumph of the will over those who would keep the brothers down" movies....

Oh... Just watched "The Crow" and I enjoyed it.

Sounds: weak, not realistic. Guns sounds like lasers.
Planes: BF109 behaving like one of the plane from the movie "Stealth".

4 P40 strafing and destroying a german airbase on their own. Squadrons à hundreds of P51 all together escorting a bombing mission over Germany. Rookies who have never fought on the front line but yet are able to decimate squadrons of veteran german pilots. etc...

    Das Boot.

Absolutely brilliant, a true classic. Probably one of the best movie soundtracks ever, absolutely amazing.

    This Must The Place.

Beautiful film, loved it very much. Reminded me a lot Lynch's The Straight Story.

    Blitz

With Jason Statham, the initial scene alone, where he beats the living sh't out of some chavs, is worth the entire movie.
