Not the neo-noir masterpiece I was led to believe but still good. Perhaps I should have paid more attention when I was watching it. 8/10
The Avengers. I actually liked it. 9.5/10. The ticket I payed was well worth it.

Well, I was a fan of the original and I enjoyed this too. I went with a 38 yo woman who had not seen any Dark Shadows and she liked it. Pretty funny. The original was a scary soap opera but, this was a music / comedy. It was worth seeing the IMAX because, there are twice as many speakers (in my IMAX, some have many times more)
and there is loads of music.
Mellow 60s music with sappy 70s ballads/songs and lots of an Alice Cooper show, which was nice.
The set was out of this world. Excellent job. Meaning, Collinwood. Really nice spooky house. Secret panels galore.
Johnny Depp was funny. Helena Bonham Carter, Johnny Lee Miller, Michelle Pfeiffer were all good. Jackie Earle Haley was sort of wasted as Willy Loomis but, not his fault just not enough story for his roll, I think. Christopher Lee had a small roll.
The kids were played by Chloe Grace Moretz as a very young, very sexy Carolyn (with a suprise) and Gulliver McGrath as a, rather more than usually likable, David Collins. Eva Green played Angelique. She was sexy but, just not Angelique to me. My biggest complaint.
Cameos by original cast members in the Ball/Happening scenes:
Katheryn Leigh Scott: Maggie Evans
Lara Parker: Angelique
David Selby: Quent Collins (the werewolf)
And Jonathan Frid: Barnabas Collins. His last appearance, he died just a few weeks before the movie premiered. Cool for fans.
Not for a lot of you big butch MPNetters.

Can't wait to see it.
I love Danny Trejo, but Bad Ass is 2/10. I still don't know how to handle that though ... maybe I did not get it
Robowar...Just wow.
Battleship 7/10
Entertaining no brainer, merely Transformers meets Battle LA.
Act of Valor.
Good action etc. Gonna practice my SEAL slide now.
Shark Night. Horrible, cheesy stupid. 3/10, but then i realized that i enjoyed it, so really gotta give it like a 6/10.
Colombiana - 2/10
This is one of the most poorly written, disjointed films I have ever seen. An absolute travesty. It gets 2 points for Zoe Saldana running around in skin tight clothes... but even that was only half-mast arousing.
Colombiana - 9/10
Most excellent.
