Bad? I thought Scott Pillgrim was rather superb, in a cult sort of way. Granted I enjoyed it more for the support characters rather than Cera, especially McCaulkin junior.

Going to tackle Act of Valour tonight. With all due respect, I'm not expecting much given the American/Hollywood taste for USA > The World genre that war films always seem to degrade into, but I've heard good things and I'm especially interested in how the 'actors' do.

McHale's Navy. 1/10. It gets the 1 because I want to retire to a tropical island and where they filmed it looks nice. You can make a nice fishing boat out of an old PT boat.

Horrible movie. It should have been great because the series was funny as all get out

Act of Valour - The action really couldn't save the bad acting (even with a pinch of salt) and disjointed 'plot' for me. The computer-game-esque overlays in various title sequences just took the biscuit in the end and I switched it off. I particularly enjoyed the magical white truck, which switched models between driving and stunt scenes.

    A generous 4/10

I said bad as a compliment, I am 44 yo, I like , lets say, intellectual stuff, but it was refreshing and totally alien to my culture. I really enjoyed it.

2/10. It had a couple funny moments, plus Bruce Campbell entertains as usual.
Tom Arnold and Tim Curry ultimately run it into the ground.
You can always watch Down Periscope and Sgt Bilko for your vaguely military related laughs.

    Solomon Kane
A pirate who forswore violence (Purefoy) has to take up arms again to protect the innocent, at the cost of his immortal soul which will be taken by the devil should he kill once more...

My expections weren't high, maybe that's why I ended up liking it. Also, James Purefoy is one cool stud. (6.99/10)

I watched it last night. I appreciated the lack of ego and condescension that is present in so many of Stone's films. Also, civilian chums taking on a cartel gives me a *****.

LOL. Cinematography was pretty solid too. Nice twist at the end, was kind of bummed for a minute.
