ill give it 8/10![]()
Battleship ...
A North Korean style Hollywood propaganda movie![]()
It sucks, despite all the CGI![]()
At home, its Friday and im working on a Johnnie Walker Red label anyway - waiting for the internet police -
WW2 Veterans and cripples (sorry, but ...) reviving the USS Missouri to beat Aliens in a Naval battle ? WTF ?! It felt like a fear of Alien Chinese Battleships inspired this movie ...
I went to see it in the movies, too. In my defense I only did because A) some buddies invited me B) I didn't realize it's actually based on a board game and C) I fell for the idea it could be a decent flick since it has Liam Neeson in it. A couple of pages back I gave it a 5/10 if I remember correctly.
Having said this, it's one of those movies you can only suffer in cinemas. At home you'd just turn the fricking TV off.
The Man Who Would Be King
Awesome, British Empire awesome![]()
I like both SW and ST equally. It was someone else that thought I picked one over the other. I never said that. The Imaginary war. THAT is the truly ridiculous idea here.
And like Frank said "There is only ONE Trilogy!"
The New Hope (what we all call Star Wars) 4
The Empire Strikes Back 5
Return of The Jedi 6
No bloody 1, 2 and 3
and No Bloody One True Ring Crapola.
That was a good one.
I just saw The Red Riding Trilogy. About the Yorkshire Ripper and corruption in the Yorkshire Police and the Home Office. How much of this is true? Good drama.

I guess the books were a quartet. They skipped the 1977 movie.
War Horse (3.5/5) Heard it was so-so before I watched it, but was pleasently surprised that I liked it more than I thought I would. The locations and sets were fantastic and even the France 1918 scenes were beautiful in their own right. Good cast of characters that you could get into despite the short time you spend with most of them.
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (U.S.) (4/5) I enjoyed this just as much, if not a bit more, than the original Swedish version. Great acting by Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara with some great cinematography and editing. Only thing I didn't care for was the cutting down of the plot. A lot of it felt incredibly reserved compared to the original, and while it worked in most places, it really failed to deliver during the final scenes highlighting the "hidden" antagonist. I didn't much care for how they played out Lisbeth's childhood experience either, whittling it down to some ominous hospital visits, a blown up car, and a quick little mention that she lit her father on fire.
