Hey everyone! today i got into an arguement with my shop teacher when he said that we couldve solved ALL our problems in iraq if we just carpet bomb a couple of cities to set an example to the others...i disagreed saying that mass air force power alone wont finish the job. what do you think would have worked?

How many times did we bomb the hell out of North Vietnamese..?..You can't just bomb an enemy that doest care about the people from the country in witch there in, Plus the American people would not allow that to happen it would be a huge PR nightmare.

Carpet-bombing Iraq would surly only further fuel the insurgency. In WWII the Germans and British both thought bombing cites would break the will of the enemy, but it didn’t it only increased their resolve.

There is a reason he is a shop teacher. He doesen't sound too bright and is pretty glib about the situation as a whole. Don't waste your time arguing with him, he'll never get it.

that fact is he has NEVER been in any sort of combat situation but talks about the mass destruction of civilian centers so easily...thats what gets me angry.
