Great Pics - what do the blue berets signify?
Sorry for my ignorance![]()
Wow, nice pics goldie. Good job!!! It's very interesting.
My first impression to last few pics is WOW!!! no one's wearing brain bucket in the range. I can just imagine my Sgt Maj chasing me around the range screaming his lungs out "Where'da f*& is your helmet soldier!!!"
Pics in the winter remind me of my days in Fort Drum. brrrrrr!!! Ah, those were the days.Counting days till ETS.

Thanks fellas for the info
I don't mean to drag this ot - I'm sure Goldie will bring it back on topic - but that guy with the beard walking past the command APC, is that the sandy coloured beret of 2 Bn you were talking about?
Sorry for the dumb questions - I'm just interested![]()
Its not the sand colored version they use abroad its the standard
issue for all other army element (olive green), its probably just worn out it tends to get lighter then, especaly if you trimmed it for better fit.
By the way the guy with the beard is the Crown Prince Haakon Magnus
Thanks mate - he he, I bet you've never heard your crown prince described as "The guy with the beard..." Sorry - I meant no disrespect...By the way the guy with the beard is the Crown Prince Haakon Magnus![]()
Yeah i know but havent heard any official remarks about that but i think thats primarely for ops outside Norway. When i was rotating tours in Kosovo in 2003 there were some from 6divison with the sand version but if i could remember it was the guys from the ISTAR battalion who had the sand version not the others from 6 division
Yeah, I was gonna ask about the guys in woodland cammo. Are they americans?
And also, are you "precision-shooting" with the MG, cos you have loaded the belt with one in two. (Am I making sence?).
Nice thread Goldman!
I'll contribute some myself, a couple of photos from my current deployment to Afgh. Not too many, but some anyhow;
Take care and hope to be able to start my own thread in the not too distant future,
Marcus
Damn, What rig is the guy on the right wear? a lot of pouches. I see some on OD and NO Camoflage.
