Danish interpreter in Helmand:
Great pictures, keep it up, Danes!
The Danish scouts new vehicle based on HMMWV.
It replaces Mercedes GD.
Cool! What's the two green antennae up front? Comm gear? And where's the wire cutter?
The Danish Piranha IIIC APC's and Ambulances in Helmand, have now been outfitted with cage armour.
Nice U-boat insignia
Der Spiegel's next top story: "NAZI DANES IN AFGHANISTAN"
I wonder where they store all their gear now. We used to have wire nets on the sides for MREs, water, etc...
A few pics of the new CV35 that are being deployed to Helmand in february:
Can't wait to see them in action!
Going to Oksbøl tonight to do 5 tedious days of guard duty around Kallesmærsk, for a CV35 live firing exercise. I'll try if I can snap a few fresh pics of them.
Story of 1st Sqd./2nd Plt./2nd Light Recon Sqn. by Jacob Svendsen, Helmand og Miriam Dalsgaard (photo)

Short portraits of the six scouts:
One of the six scouts, Rune Westy Zacharias Nielsen, died in Denmark on November 17 from the wounds he sustained in Helmand on October 31. By agreement with his family, the story has not been published during this period and his family has approved it's content. "Rune wanted it that way", his mother explained.
@ Fisker; That would be cool
Just noticed on a picture from the CV9035 thread that the army has bought FAPDS ammunition for the 35mm.
Will proberly be very good against walls, houses, fortifications.. muzzle velocity is 1400 m/s! I wonder if they bought any programable ammunition? Proberly not because of the cost. But a mix of FAPDS and HEI should work just fine as well...

I missed the accompanying photos - thanks for extracting. Great photos, BTW. Kudos to Miriam Dalsgaard.
Here's a couple more:
I think you need to be Danish, and having experienced being away from home for a long time, before you can really appreciate this It's a feast!
