Well, it's the tank platoon + combat engineers, medics, recovery, tacp, ew, some logistics. Pretty much makes up company strength.

How many tanks currently in Afghanistan and how many do you have overall in the Army? 1 or 2 battalions worth?

We got 5 tanks in Afghanistan. Three on operation, one in reserve and one under maintainances. We only got 3 tank squadrons left with 11 tanks in each(1 battalion).. 33 active tanks in all.. and about 25 in stores. Just enough to keep a platoon out on IntOps permanently.. or 2 squadrons deployed for 6 months each, 1 year total.

But if a situation calls for it, we could deploy a tank squadron supported by 9035 and infantry.. but for a limited amount of time.

...Except for two nurses and two interpreters who will assist the British forces until september. (as it says in the article)
