Your opinion in my humble opinion is BS.

Also my kids have been shooting all their lives, both started reloading at 9 year old, besides driving vehicles. (off road).

Maybe your parents never pottied trained you until you were over 21. That is your problem. I have met "kids" who were more mature and capable than some 35 year olds (or even older).

BTW, Zack, she is a beauty.
You are right that a kid is not a terrorist, but it was just a metaphor.

My FAL is coming along, slowly but surely.
Here's what I've got so far. More parts, including barrel, a better stock and pistol grip (and handguards), and most of the innards, were ordered last week and should be on their way. All that's remaining, once they arrive, will be the upper receiver (the most expensive part, and in legal terms, "the gun", gas piston, selector switch, and a few odds and ends.

I've been enjoying this so far, and am already looking forward to doing another, if I can afford it. I'm thinking of doing an Israeli-style.

(I also threw in a pic of my L1A1 and FN49, for sh!ts n' giggles.)

By the way, the sources for my parts have been AR15.com's equipment exchange (lower receiver and furniture), gunthings.com, Sarco, DSA, and gunpartsguy.com

    Thanks, JJ!

Actually, I've been a member of that forum for about two and a half years. I'm more of a lurker than a poster there.

Nice upper, is it a Spike's 22 upper with the DD rail? The optic looks out of place, time to paint the rest of the rifle, lol .

I'm thinking about buiding my first AR.

Right now I'm leaning on ordering a kit from Del-Ton.

Has anybody had experience with a Del-Ton kit/rifle? I'm somewhat on a budget, so if you could help me out by suggesting a better kit to go with, I'd appreciate it.

Looks good. Your flash suppressor is the open style. In RV they were great for cutting the metal bands on crates and hanging up on vegetation. I guess the vegetation is not a problem over in the rock pile.

Let us know about the SBR. I have a 7.5 inch. My brother says the 10.5 is the way to go, if you add a sounds suppressor both 7.5 and 10.5 wind up being the same length.

I thought for room clearing a 7.5 with a Beta C mag would be the choice. My understanding is that Beta C mags can have reliability issues.

A few more FAL parts arrived last weekend. More are on the way, including an Argentine chrome-lined barrel, US-made gas piston, charging handle, and more innards.

(note: the cat's tail is not a part of the rifle!)

Called SOG yesterday to get their address because strangely enough I couldn't find it on their dealer site. I have a C&R and have to send them a copy... I'm looking at picking up an M91/30 sniper. For Father's Day and all. heh.

But while I was on the phone the girl said that they have stripped AR lowers in stock for $120.00 a piece. If you know anyone with an FFL that's a great price these days....

Well how about that. I knew that $200 + prices wouldn't last forever.

Do you know what kind they are?

Nah, they didn't say on the phone. Those are dealer prices so conceivably they'd mark them up. I'm trying to find them on the website but it's kinda hard to navigate...
