My Buddy liked the job I did on my 10/22 so gave me his Norinco AK to refinish. Spent a few hours degreasing and cleaning in the tub with industrial Simple Green and Kroiled some rust spots overnight. Used bronze steel wool #0000 to clean the rust off and Hair dryer gun to dry the parts completely. This week using Brownells "Aluma-Hyde" in Dark Parkerize Grey to refinish the metal. He's having New Walnut furniture shipped to me and I'm going to polish the Bolt for contrast.
That photos sure makes the rounds....It originally was used in the Special Weapons versus Ohio Rapid Fire flame war...too funny........brings back memories.
i actually pulled the tango down grip off the rifle to put the miad on another ar lower that i am working on. this one i was and still am trying to stick with magpul even though the flashlight is caa. this build has taken since 08 and has been through several phases, stocks and rails. I have 2 other ar's completed right now and 2 in the works.
