CJ, If I get the chance, I'll take a couple of pics of those rifles next time I get a chance, and send them to you.

sooo, here is the question to fellow enfield funs

I had a problem with the elevation, basically I had to set sights to 300 to actually hit target at 100, I had that corrected with a little washer under the rear sight, now I noticed a little screw, under the slide bar

can I use that to adjust elevation? Im afraid to take the sights apart

    should have mentioned, its a nr1 mk3

went to the gun show today with high hopes...unfortunately not deep pockets. everything was rediculously overpriced and worn out. a majority of the rifles and shotguns being sold were antiques and priced well into the 500-2500 price range. I went to all the vendors that i could only to find that no lower receivers were being sold and the uppers i found were A1 style with no bolt or priced expensively(lowest i saw was $450. I may go back tomorrow if i feel up to it idk...i think i may have better luck online. I did find a retractable butt stock for 50 bucks and and some picatinny rails and stuff that would come in handy when i do get an ar.

I built a single shot 50 BMG, bought some prints and made almost all of the parts. Used a ma deuce surplus barrel. It's a riot to shoot.

That sucks, Zonk. Too bad you weren't in Portland, Oregon today. The gun show here was pretty good. I walked out with a stripped lower, all the innards to put in it, plus a collapsable stock, a complete flat-top upper w/ 16" barrel, all for a little under $700. Now, I just gotta find someone with armorer skills to help me put the lower parts in the receiver, and I'm good to go.

Gaij, mate, you don't need to go to an armorer, all you need are three different sized roll pin punches and other common household tools and you can go to town.

I built my STAG with a DPMS inners kit and I used a Philips head screw driver instead of Roll Pin Punches, tha when I found out the hard way that won't work. I purchased new roll pins and the punches and went to town.
Brownells is the wource for the punches.

Check out the link homie, everything you should need(information wise) is there......

I wonder if it works, It is missing some critical parts. Part of the muzzel blast is use to drive the barrel rear wards. Similar to a MG 42 family of MG.

It missing it's inners too. I would not be surprise is some one did something like that to a 1919. I wonder if it is a photoshop mutant?

Too bad you don't live near me, SMG-Lee slapped mine together in a few minutes during a break at one of his shoots.

Thanks, Geeze! Actually, it will have to wait a week or so. I'm headed to the Oregon Police Academy (Parole & Probation Officer course) in about two hours. I'll be there for five weeks, with weekends off.

That would have been cool, LAWB. How is it able to conform with California laws?

It was too long for blueing tanks so I had a buddy powdercoat it for for me. Just thought the blue and gold would look cool. Found a pic of my brother - in - law firing it!

MCGN21, are those plans by Bill Holmes?

    Thanks James and California Joe.

Calfornia Joe, I have read and collected a lot of material web wise concerning gunsmithing. My primary interest is obviously legal ( I have seen a lot of plans for dubious fully auto weapons) and involves joining my local Black Powder Shooters Association. My brother is a member and has an old single shot breech loading Martini Henry. The original cartridges were wax paper on a brass stub with a lead bullet. He has sourced machined brass full length cartridges imported from Italy. They apparentely may be re-used many times but can be expensive.

My primary aim is to perhaps manufacture a vintage black powder weapon after my application has been finalised. My other brother has a full workshop with industrial lathes, milling machines etc. He has in fact already replicated those expensive imports for my brother!!! That single shot rifle design, would that perhaps be of the type of firearm I'm interested in? I've googled around and not come up with many good sites that have free vintage black powder plans.
