Seriously? That's the one that looks like a modified M68 mount, right?

Are you having trouble with attaching the sight to the mount, or the mount to the weapon?

There's 6 hex screws that hold the sight on, and there's a GIGANTIC KNOB you turn that tightens the mount to your rails.

Sorry for not being very clear, ok, so mounting the sight to the mount is no problem, but to my absolute horror I found out that, I think it may be to small to go on my rails, I've got a TM M4 RIS, is there some bit that I can, sort of chop off or file down to make it fit?. The big knob tightens this bit that holds onto your rails right? well there's a smaller extension on the front of that bit, that's cut out of the metal. I believe it's supposed to lock on to the rails as well, but that's the bit that's blocking the whole thing from just sliding on.

Leonidas, you need to take a picture of your Z mount (at the point where the big knob tightens this bit that holds onto your rails) and send it to us, to let us clearly understand. Is THIS your airsoft mount? (found HERE)

I also send a picture of the suggested mount (not airsoft), placed on a real AK rifle. The mount used into the following picture, is the SPOT 30mm cantilever scope mount, which can be found HERE. Is this the type of your mount?

PS. According the above, the "cheap" G&G 25/30mm ring mount (for airsoft purposes) seems to cost about the double (!!!) price of the real SPOT 30mm cantilever scope mount (for real rifles). Well, what can I say?

Freedom tower? In case like this, I'd recommend mounting the optics as close to the axis of the barrel. But, that's just me...

Wait a minute, I think this guy has his cantilever mount backwards, usually they're mounted to other way. . .

This specific type of mount is designed for a reason: To move closer the sight to the shooter's eye. As for me, the mount should be attached on the rifle, in a way that ensures that the red dot sight is close to the shooter's eye, so he can put the dot on target faster & easier. So, it depends on the exact position of the rifle's picatinny rail, where & how this Z mount should be placed. I say, this way looks right to me for an AK rifle.

Can't you read or bored to check the previous posts too? As I said into my previous message "...I also send a picture of the suggested mount (not airsoft), placed on a real AK rifle..."

My point is to compare the fake 'n' cheap G&G 25/30mm ring mount which is used for airsoft purposes, with the official SPOT 30mm cantilever scope mount made for real rifles and help our friend Leonidas, to overcome his problem to mount the ring on his airsoft M-4.

If you check closer, the big tightening knob of the G&G 25/30mm ring mount is placed at the left side. The same big tightening knob of the SPOT 30mm cantilever scope mount is placed at the right side. Look at the shooter's picture too.

Exactly-Nick, that cantilever aimpoint mount is facing the wrong way. Normally, they are mounted like this:

Should it matter where it faces? I mean, does it have any effect on the scope in terms of zeroing it?

Hispeed1, I got your point, but I agree with Sand Man's opinion.

As long as the shooter in the pic has no problem or feel better with the red dot sight closer to his eyes and considering that placing the mount one way or another does not have any effect on the scope zeroing, I think it is useless to say this is the right way and this is the wrong way. As said before, this specific type of mount is designed for a reason: To move closer the red dot sight to the shooter's eye, or move it as far as possible from shooter's eye - what ever it suits. According to me (personal opinion), the mount should be attached in a way that ensures that the red dot sight is as close as possible to the shooter's eye, so he can put the dot on target faster & easier.

    Cheers

Jesus you guys, cantilever mounts can go either way. If you want the sight closer to your eye than mount it backwards, and vice versa
