If what Marcinko says in his book is true then he might not be a bad boss to work for. i. e. His boys getting all the goody goody toys plus being protected by all BS that the top echelon throws at them.

At the end of "Rogue Warrior", he said that he was imprisoned for counts of conspiracy, and something about funding, as mentioned before. I'm assuming that he did a lot of the writing in prison, which is probably why some of the parts are so negative.

But isn't the guy like 60 some years old? And I'm pretty sure he's made too much noise to still be in the Navy. But I still want to buy his Red Cell video, just to see the authenticity of some of the exercises, which seemed pretty intense in the book.

what who needs personal experience when you can read a book that certainly NOOOO liberties would be taken in....

besides my aunt's only sister's only son told me all about it - whaaa?

I mean - I could tell you about it but the records are classified - my dd214 is only a 1-800 number on a post-it-note signed by the SECDEF. - oops dd214 - I mean I was the only soldier to go right from AMRY basic to be a SEAL - yeah yeah and that's why the Navy has no record. yeah thats the ticket.

****'s "fictional" books suck ass. Or are they so real that they could only be told as fiction?

I have the Red Cell video. I got it from Paladin Press, it was not really much though, better buy the ones being sold by History or Discovery Channel with Navy SEALs as there subject. It would be much more informative

I only met Marcinko once(SEAL reunion) and he was a good fella that day.Thats all I can say about him. Now I do know his right hand man Snake(D.C) and he is a great guy and worked with **** for many years. His first hand accounts are the only thing I can go by and in my opinion if he is good enough for Snake then he is G2G in my book. I dont get into all the politics and jealousy's between certain members of the TEAMs just personal experiences.

Hey, just wondering... what are the turnover rates of first term SEAL's I remember seeing a couple going through SS school at Camp Horno. I'd imagine (totally guessing here) that most? do a 6 year contract because of the length of the training... Just curious.

What!! no rap-star east coast v/s west coast rivalry in FR?

Obviously, by my sarcasm & and lack of previous posts; I do not know him. I can only say what others have told me, and they are subject to their own prejudices. If even half of what it said is true then he should earn the respect of most military men if for deed alone.

Met him once, he signed a book for me. My friend Fred that served with him in Team 2 introduced us. He was cool around me. That's all.
