Video starts with multiple screams "back up, back up, and cease fire, cease fire..." and pretty much continues in that manner. Those soldiers were panicking, scared, and did not know what are they doing, and on what are they shooting. They are luck that they are/were fighting "insurgents"
because if on the other side were someone who know what to do, in that situation, they would be in deep ****.

I'm not really going to judge as I've never been in combat but I'd say they found the general direction of the enemy and fired on it. You can clearly hear some AK bursts in there(not sure when) and that one mortar so the enemy WAS there. Non of us were there so we can't really judge.. I shouldn't have even put up that post with the suppressing fire.
