    Default Diemaco sfw stopping power

does anyone know if the diemaco sfw would have more muzzle velocity or range than the m4 carbine, i know that the barrel of the sfw is 16 in,
but is that enough to increase the muzzle velocity of the weapon

it only increases velocity (fragmentation threshold), and with it the effective range...~25yd more maybe afaik...also depending on what ammo is being used etc

Mcsplurry mate, read round the subject first (Wikipedia, isn't that accurate but it's a start!). Then you can re-think your post as you may have the wrong end of the stick.

A difference of 1.5 inches would be negligable I think.

i have been told of many squaddies complaning that there m4 dosent have
the "stopping power" to effectivly drop an enemy in one hit even within 150m.

"Squaddies"? Not seen many squaddies using M4's in combat.

The M4 is starting to get rather maligned, if it was that crap no-one would use it. A lot of the reports of so-called lack of stopping power stemmed from using the M4 past its effective range. Within 150m the M4 should have no problem. There were rumours floating about (here we go!) of certain SFW users in Afghan in the early days requesting LSWA2 as the open ranges of Afghan didn't lend themselves too well to 16 inch carbines. (Just rumours, don't quote me!)

...... sorry I tried to resist, but I am weak.

Mcspulrry try googling 5.56mm vs 7.62mm. That should answer your question.
