M249 telescoping buttstock woes...

I'm a SAW gunner, just recently I was issued the new shorter barrel, and collapsible buttstock. Well the one I was issued is very similiar to the M4 butt stock. I'm wondering if anyone out there knows where I can get the old one. The one you have pull out and twist and is made of tubular steel. The new buttstock just plain sucks. It's too large when expanded and sucks when trying to clear rooms with it collapsed. I think you saw gunners might be able to understand what I mean, maybe not, who knows.

Please help me.

I've begged my armorer for days to see if they could get the old ones back but to no avail. I'm going to try to get some pictures of the new stock. Give me a bit.

I dont know where you could get one of the old ones but are the new ones really that bad? Do they take standard M4 buttstocks?

We've had those M4 stocks for awhile. I'm not a SAW gunner, but I haven't really heard anybody complain. It seems you could swap the stock for another m4 stock. I'd try that before trying to get ahold of the old twist out stocks.

1st the new SAW Stock will not fit an M4 stock on it.

2nd what you mean it sucks? This thing is way better than all three of the previous stocks. The M5 was alright but when fully collapsed the butt was sideways and was rather uncomfortable to fire. With this one you have a choice between 4 diff. positions and the butt is larger and more comfortable. But if you really want to switch it out, talk within your BN and see if any of the other companies have them. I did a 1 for 1 swap with another company for my M4 style one with approval of the armorer of course. Hope that helps.
