    Default Michael Savage anyone?

Hello everyone, I'm a new member, been lookin' for a forum like this for a while now. All the political forums have turned me into a prune, this one is my kinda forum.

But, on the political note, anyone listen to Michael Savage? I don't know anyone personally who listens to him so I thought I'd ask fellow political hawks who hold gun rights, aswell as others, near and dear to them what they thought of him. Does he ring a bell in your soul about what direction this country is headed in? Does he make you hate him? Do you even know who he is?
He's no Rush Limbaugh and no Al Franken so all you fellas who have the knee-jerk reaction that this is another pundit marketing for one party or another, listen to him for a couple of days and then lets have a discussion about where America is going.

    Mr. Joshua

i catch him every now and then. i dont like his views on somethings,i.e. gays (he hates them). he is pro-military (raising money for the defense of the Marines in the brig for haditha and other things). some of his stories are ok and harkin back to times long past. he isnt the worst out there, but by no means the best either. take in what he says and judge for yourself. it is entertaiong when he gets all fired up and statrts yelling though

glenn beck is more tonned down and seems abit more stable on most issues the savage, i like him better but still disagree with him as well.

    btw, welcome to the forum.

He sounds like my in-laws. I like his show - I find that I agree with him a lot, but I just really dig it when he goes off the deep end and starts yelling. He's very articulate and it's fun to listen to him go berserk. IMHO he's a bit too over the top to be taken completely seriously, but he's kind of a bizarro world Jon Stewart.

I wish his show lasted longer for more moments like that.

I used to listen to him all the time, but since the war stuff started I have tuned him out.

I like that he actually had a long, distinguished career outside of typical broadcasting/politics, unlike most talk show hosts. Hearing him talk about plants and food is usually more entertaining than hearing his political rants.

    Thanx for the welcome!

Yeah, he's rabid, but, I wouldn't want a softy talkin' 'bout politics. If I want soccer mom politics, I click over to Hannity. Savage is crazy when somebody gets him riled up, no doubt about that. But when he is calm and collected, he can really get to you, he really gets the brain going with stuff you never even knew. And yeah, him having a phd makes me believe he has credibility over say a former drywaller and a host for a vanity/celebrity show. And I don't even know what Hush Bimbo was doing before he got into radio. Nothing against drywallers (I'm in the business!), its just, you can tell the others are pure Republican salesmen. Savage now, he talks sh** about everyone. He knows neither party has bested the other, other than in corruption and lies. Thats why I like him, I relate to him, almost everything he talks about I agree with, I just can't articulate it aswell as he can.

You know, for those of you who say he is to extreme for you, he always tries to get you guys to listen, but you probably turn him off after a couple of minutes. Thats the way I was at first. Shoot, I thought he was
Al Franken, their voices sound similar. But something about his politics and the way he runs the show made me come back. He says, if you really wanna find out where i'm coming from, listen to me for a full week, so you can hear alot more, and put it all into context. And its not always politics, sometimes its a war story (not his), a story about family, a story about the old days or a story about Teddy his dog. It's not the same old Republicans good, Democrats bad kinda thing, its a real, down the middle rude awakening.

As far as Glenn Beck goes, I knew some network was gonna try something like that, I thought FOX initially, but was wrong. This is my opinion guys so don't take it personal, I think Mr. Beck is an empty suit who is fed the days assignment, which coincidently is slighlty tainted conservative news, which no doubt will be diluted with spin and liberal bias after Commie News Network gets what they want which is larger audience. I don't know if any of you know but FOX is in decline right now because of their slant towards the left these past couple of years. CNN smells blood and is taking advantage with this show and of course the fake conservative Lou Dobbs.
Fox could of had a Glenn Beck type show with Mr. Savage, but O'reilly, 2nd in command at FOX despises Savage and has had him banned from the network. I expected that MSNBC, but from FOX. GEEEEEZZZ, they've had on Michael Moore, Bill Maher, Jimmy Carter, Al Sharpton, nobody cares about these guys, what good things have these waste of skin brought to us. Not a damn thing. Now FOX is having glamour segments on almost every show, that stupid waste of skin Paris Hilton keeps popping up on the news updates. Greta Van Sustern is doing nothing but sensational- who dunnit news. And Geraldo, pppfffttt, don't get me started with the man with the rat on his lip.

Do we really need all that crap, or do we need to know if our way of living could dramatically change.

    Change impossible?

    What about the Roman Empire?

Anybody know of any other Savage types on the air?
