The elusive BMP-1 based SPG. Another possibility for the gun in addition to those I mentioned at http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums...4&postcount=50 (disregard mortars now): 100mm AT gun (BS-3 or later). Damn that poor quality photo!

Sucks big time, all right. Especially since it denies us positive ID of those BMP SPGs

Here is a far better image of that Cuban "SPG" (picture by Marc Chassillan, published in Raids #249). The ordnance is clearly that of the Soviet 122mm howitzer D-30M.

Well, the ordnace is obviously the Russian 130mm gun M-46 but I don't know what chassis it is mounted on. According to Mr Chassillan it could be the KrAZ-214. The Cubans have also developed a tracked version on the chassis of the T-34:

Mr CHASSILIAN, like other raids journalists as Y. DEBAY ..., is not very good in recognition but concerning the cuban "CAESAR" the wheelbase is certainly a KRAZ product but between KRAZ-214 and KRAZ-255 it is impossible to choose.

Here is a pic I found of the Cuban Hinds on the flyover the military parade...

During a transit stop in Santa Clara saw a few Hinds stationed there. Pretty well camouflaged I must say.

Just noticed something about the BMP SPG. In the photo Calimero2 posted (http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/1...ssillanji3.jpg) it has a rotating turret with the D-30 howitzer. But in those posted before (see below) the gun is in a fixed open top superstructure and in one photo it appears that the ordnance extends beyond the hull, which is not the case with the D-30.


Conclusion: At least two different variations of the BMP SPG theme in Cuba. *The plot thickens*

D'oh! I should have seen that! Note also that the muzzle brakes are different. If I had to guess I'd say that it could be the 100mm AT gun T-12/MT-12.

Thats an SA-2 missile (I think the Russian designation is C-75) on a T-55 Chassis. Here's more pics of it from the same parade.

Wow that vehicle looks like it is rear heavy and the front right road wheel looks like its almost off the ground....

Rear shot of the Cuban "Cesaer" SPG - definitely looks like a KRAZ chassis to me - most likely a 255b series.
