Wow, seen some of that before, but some new too. Pretty intense. Looked like that one guy was leisurely crossing the street when the tracers started flying.
The part with the Panther was from an actual duel with a Pershing tank in '45.
Yeah, well know footage.
The tank crew balling out from the Sherman scene, is "new" to me. Terrible footage.
I don't know if is just my eyes, but the tanker that scapes and fells on the Sherman's engine deck seems to had part of his left leg blown up and seems it stills smoking. Watch carefuly... even stills smoking.
Terrible.
Was that Cologne where the fighting was taking place?!
It was Cologne. I have seen stills of the American tanker being rescued. Notice the German getting cut in half by the Sherman? RIP all.

It's in this video:

This and the following pictures from Phil DeRiggi's webpage were taken by an Army frontline photographer, Sergeant Jim Bates. More information about the tank and the capture of Cologne can be found on Phil's page for his brother John, who passed away October 08, 2005. John was member of the crew. In one of the great, overlooked photos of WWII, two Spearhead tank crewmen have left their Sherman (at left) moments after another Sherman (at right) took a hit from a German Panther tank (out of sight). The original newswire caption reads that one crewman is running to aid any survivors in the smoking Sherman, while the other is running toward the camera for a medic. The towering Cologne Cathedral can be seen in the background.

just to confirm is this a pershing being knocked out or a panther? and did you notice how the two guys just leave their buddy trying to climb out of the turret? before the other tanks shoots the turret, terrible.
