Default Christmas trees are being returned at Seattle's

Festive trees back at US airport

The Christmas trees have now been returned to Seattle's airport

Christmas trees are being returned at Seattle's international airport after a row over religious decorations.
A dozen holiday trees had been removed over the weekend after a local rabbi complained the decorations did not include a giant Jewish menorah.
The airport's authorities removed the trees, which prompted a public outcry and a flood of hate mail to the rabbi.
Elzar Bogomilsky, who had threatened to sue the airport, said he never wanted the trees removed.
"The rabbi never asked us to remove the trees, it was the port's decision based on what we knew at the time," said Pat Davis, who heads the Port of Seattle Commission, which runs the airport.
"There's been such an outcry from the public - from people of all faiths - who believe that the trees should be reinstalled," Mr Davis said.

    All-inclusive plan
Rabbi Bogomilsky had written to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport officials to ask that a menorah - an eight-branched candelabrum used for the Jewish festival of Hanuka - be placed alongside the largest Christmas tree on display to reflect the region's cultural diversity.
He was "saddened" by the port's decision to remove all holiday decorations, his lawyer said.
"We are not part of the war on Christmas," Harvey Grad said. "All we asked for was inclusion and now we're getting hate mail and angry messages." A menorah will not be displayed this year, but the airport authorities say they will work on a festive plan for next year to reflect all sections of the community.

I'm surprised such a stink was made over these trees in the first place.

A friend at work, who happens to be Jewish, said Hanukkah is a "minor
holiday" for Jews. There are no travel restrictions, no dietary restrictions,
    etc.

He was an idiot to threaten to sue over the trees. I'm sure he represents the feelings of only a small portion of Jews, but of course, by being a loud-mouth, he serves as an embarrassement.

He threatned to sue if the trees weren't put back.

I heard it on one of the news breaks yesterday on FOX, supposedly, he only asked if they were gonna put out a menora, forgive me if I mispelled that, and I guess the employee talking to him told him he didn't know if they would and asked politely if they could and supposedly went about his business.

I guess you gotta look at it from the Airports perspective.

They probably felt a big stink was gonna be made over this and did the wrong thing by just removing the trees.

When he came back after he heard what happened, then he complained that, that removing the trees was not what he intended, he only wanted to know if they were gonna put out a menora.

I guess you could thank whoever invented political correctness!

This kind of stuff makes me sick. If you want to put up a Christmas tree, do it. If you want to put up a menorah, do it. If you want to put up whatever people who celebrate Kwanzaa put up, do it.

Some people act like decorations are representations of jack booted thugs there to slap you in the face and stomp on your rights. I'm over it all. But if I see another draedel, I'm setting fire to something. Bah-humbug!

That guy should of just STFU. If he wanted to see a menorah, then he should go home and put one up. Where is it his right to see the holiday symbolism of his choice at the local airport?

If the airport wanted to celebrate Festivus, then they should put up the pole and everyone else should just kiss-off.

Go to a diffrent airport. Or here's an idea: get over yourself.

It's not about actually being oppressed anymore, it's about feeling oppressed.

For some reason, not being included in someone else's holiday now counts as oppression. Who to blame? ****ing lawyers, who else?
