As I wrote in the Weekend's Pics thread, this armor suite does resemble the BTR-80UP. But I think it's a bit strange if a Ukrainian-Polish upgrade package was acquired by the Russian Army.

Look at the front. In the BTR-80UP the armor is from one piece, instead the russian BTR have armor from three pieces.

Anyway in the article which You linked i didn't find anything about the Russia buy this version of upgrade to they BTR's.

The BTR-80UP has a two part front armor panel horizontally divided, but otherwise you are right and I somehow missed that. Thanks for correcting me. But that difference aside, there is some resemblance between the two kits.

One South ossetian had a TRG, so...yu could be right, but looks like an AI stock.

Soldat on left has AKSU or maybe I am wrong? I was always wondering why this subcarbine is so rarely seen on photos, from what I know it is unpopular but I dont want to judge without knowing any real opinion.

when i was in the army, we try this shorty in the ranges. really fvcked up accuracy. called it "Suchka" ("Bitch"). basically, if you need some weap[on that you can put your lif on, don't try AKSU.
