    OSV-96 - is useless, not respected in the team. The scope always comes off, and its not comfortable.

    To be honest, I think one of the primary goals of the military vehicle/technology addition to May 9th parades is to make common people aware of the modernization going on.

    It's actually it's a military drill in case of a revolution. It let's people know that many tanks can be brought to Moscow quickly and efficiently.

    It's a number of factors. For one it's great marketing for Russian hardware. Also it's about military pride and showing off to the rest of the world, a kind of "dont mess with us" thing. Other part is tradition, except for the Yeltsin years the Parade has been a feature every year since 1945.

    Just click on the picture. And the story is that they're already in the Indian ocean awaiting rendezvous with Moskva.Then they'll have some maneuvers and go on to Vladivostok for the city's 150'th anniversary and the Navy Day.
