I have always been wondering about something, on the Igla-C, what is this this big black rubber ball for? It seems to be foldable?

I don't think it is some kind of a grip. Tracking system? The missile ejection system (even if I don't know they would have put it at front of the launcher)?

It's not a ball, but a pressure vessel containing coolant to cool down missile's seeker for stable lock on.

Must be something funny in that burning grass because all of Red armor didn't exist before summer 1944. Also, is that final production Tiger I painted in panzer gray?

    Hello friends !

I am the fresh member of this military forum. I would like to tell you that you have nice photographs and intersting pictures of russian army defence equipment (sometimes regular and sometimes just experimental or export version of equipment) ...but allso many times you have hillarious and funny debates and speculations about Russia, russian government and army strategy and russian military industry.

I would just like to comment on some previous forum speculations and debates, about Russian Ministry of Defence purchasing foreighn military equipment.

I would just like to say, that Russia is not soome kind of "banana republic", where you can make military deals without any problems. Russian ministry of defence now has specific quality and reqirement standards, according to long term military strategy of rearmament and reorganization that RF government and state Duma recently accepted. Every advanced military eqipment that will be imported in Russia from abroad, will have to go thrue systematic experiment processures, testing and will have to meet russian military standards.

So for example, if Israel will decided to sell it`s UAV systems to Russia, or France to sell it`s Mistral ships to Russia...they will have to meet high-tech military standars that Russian military is requreing now. So there will be no downgrade of foreighn military technology or lack of quality, lack of performance or some other things that do not meed russian technological standards. Russian government and military demands that all foreighner systems for Russia must be original and compactible with domestic russian components and technology.

If those standars will not be meet...there will be no purchase of this equipment. Russian military will than try to buy similar systems somewhere else or try to build it by itself.

For example...the Republic of Korea has recently expressed big interest for technology exchange and development of advanced technology with Russia.

Far eastern regions of Russia and Vladivostok port...that are rich with energy, raw materials, oil, gas, wood, stone and fish, are extremely interested for high-tech cooperation between Korea and Russia.
