This looks like a direct competitor of EMBRAER KC-390, ANTONOV AN-178 and of course the hold beast C-130J.
By the way have the Russian sold the looser MIG 144 project to Chinese? This looks like a compertitor of PAK FA/FGFA and F-22.
I hope Russian get a lot money for that and they did not sell the T-50 engines!

India, Russia register JV to produce transport aircraft

India and Russia have registered a joint venture, MTA Limited, to develop and manufacture a new transport aircraft in line with previous agreements, the head of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) said.
An agreement for MTA Limited between HAL and Russia's United Aircraft Corporation and state arms exporter Rosoboronexport was signed in September.
"The joint venture was registered in the beginning of December in Bangalore," Ashok Nayak told RIA Novosti. "Work on the preliminary design will start in January 2011."

Hell of a job I say, those are really some damn good numbers. However what about Kabardino-Balkaria region? There were some reports in recent months that islamists are building a base there what was kind of a surprise since I always thought that Kabards and Balkars are staying out of the wahabists.
