That's not Borodino, that's Novik, the original project. Borodino would have been demilitarized.

I don't think we've seen this vid on here yet:

Pretty awesome high-quality footage of the kuznetsov and mig-29k operations. As for Russian speakers, enjoy a short history lesson about the ship

Here are some links to awesome pictures of different shipyards doing their thing.

    Zelenodol'sk shipyard:
http://sdelanounas.ru/blogs/16237/ Includes pictures of the new Patrol boat "Grachonok" and frigate dagestan.

http://sdelanounas.ru/blogs/16353/ 2 pics of new patrol craft for the coast guard

http://sdelanounas.ru/blogs/16081/ Sredne-Nevsky shipyard, does composite hull structures for the new navy corvettes.

http://sdelanounas.ru/blogs/15426/ Almaz shipyard, pics of a new Coast Guard ship and the buyan corvette Makhachkala.

http://sdelanounas.ru/blogs/15314/ and http://sdelanounas.ru/blogs/14825/ Are the best pics of the lot. They show the Yantar' shipyard. We can clearly see the hull of the Admiral Grigorovich frigate taking shape! The fact that Ivan Gren has had it's hull painted! (so they might lower it into the water sometime this summer), The Seliger research ship, currently undergoing trials, and some other fun stuff

http://sdelanounas.ru/blogs/15215/ Some pics that were neat in my opinion, never knew we had a shipyard there, but this is the Eastern Wharf shipyard, mainly specializing in small ships and currently fulfilling a contract for vietnam and building a geographical research ship for our own navy.

Sorry the pictures are all in the links guys, I'd try and bunch them together in one post but I don't know how...

    More fun stuff!
History of the Kiev class aircraft carrier

My answer to Puff's videos about US military history

If anything, go watch these clips for the wonderfully nostalgic grainy video from the past with that soothing voice of a typical soviet era documentary presenter (oh you know what I mean).

    I'm on a roll today
One more docu about the Kuznetsov:

Still, I prefer the old Soviet style of documentary, much more relaxed voice, soothing piano music in the backround.

BTW this is a great vid, lot's of old footage you surely haven't seen.
