I would gues it lowers the IR-signature of the tank.

Also, it reduces the possibility to be detected by polarimetric imagery techniques, which allow to distinguish armor from the vegetation.

It was there. I could post the picture today evening. There were also new SR1PM - strongly upgraded SR1M, and SR1MP, SR2MP,SR3MP - lightly upgraded SR family guns, with Picatinny rail and some modification with buttstock.

Yes, I know, that's why I am asking. I spoken with Izhmasz representatives about the AK-12 at the Eurosatory, but unfortunately I cannot go this time to Moscow

OK, I found at the Russian blog of Денис Мокрушин (twower) a couple of photos of the AK-12 assault rifle from the TVM-2012.






Notice the new magazine which work with the bolt-catch of the AK-12. The release of bolt is on the both sides of the magazine latch.
