Excellent work as usual Vitaly! Not to be anal, but A-50 b/n 47 is actually A-50U. (upgraded from A-50)
God bless Vitaly V. Kuzmin

Btw, did you get clear shot of Ansat-U's that flew? A friend of mine is wondering about bort numbers.
First of all thenk you for the great photos Vitaly!
Are the Russian Armed Forces go to a homogenicity in the camo of the aircrafts lately or not? The latest of Su-34 have similar colors but you see MiG-29 in light grey, Su-27SM in various camo patterns etc. A bit of chaos.. The numbers on the frame they do not follow the same rules?
Newly modernized Su-25SM is in same colors as latest Su-34's. *All* new helicopters are in same color.
Su-27SM3, Su-35S and Su-30M2 came out of factory in same colors. Where do you see chaos? MiG-29's hardly count, as they are painted like that prior to standardization and Lipetsk has always painted their aircraft exactly as they please.
So the trend is simple: All helos in dark grey, attack aircrafts in the stupid aubergine color, fighters in camo colors consisting of different shades of blue/grey. Lets wait and see how Su-30SM will be painted...
Thank you for your answer. Su-24s have also light grey like some of the MiG-29 (but also like MiG-31) with the new insignia while MiG-SMT have their own pattern. Su-27SM have also different pattern in comparison with the latest of the family. Moreover, Su-34 are already in two different camos. And as you said the variety of patterns is impressive in older MiG-29s; the same stands for Su-25s. In the aircraft with different duties like transport, EW etc also there the camo varies a lot (see A-50, Tu-22, Tu-160, Il-22 etc). I guess this means that the old types will remain with the different camos while the new or modernised aircrafts will have the camo as you described.
About the photo with the two Mil-28s, I wonder why the n.03 has its number i nthat position while it is ussually placed as it is on the n.50..
is there a belt fed LMG chambered for 5.45mm round in Russian army ?
