    In my local TV talkshow about why some people celebrate may 8 and some other may 9 if this victory was realy "liberation" for Eastern European countries which were ruled by soviets for next 50 years.
    I was kinda surprised to hear such info so I am asking here

    Both of my grandparents were marching in the original 1945 parade, back then they didnt know each other.

    You must be very proud! Both of my grandfathers were in the war, the one on my mothers side was awarded "Hero Of The Soviet Union" it' a golden star and I believe it's the highest award a soldier can recieve.

    He looks like a mad-man from some james bond movie.
