They don't mind too much. Its a popular piece of civillian attire in Russia too.

Remember that unless you are an elite Russian soldier, wearing a telynashka doesn't make you invincible
Telnyashka(light blue) and Beret of the same colour (colour of the skies) are part of VDV uniform. Army Spetsnaz, having the same uniform, actually disguised themselves as VDV.

Folks usually wear naval telnyashka (dark/naval blue). Wearing Desantniy Telnik might get your in trouble. Certainly don’t wear it on 2nd of august.

BMP on the left side is nicely concealed without any need to have bright spots on its armor. I really doubt that the purpouse of those patches on the BTR are to make it more visible.

Everything in the picture blends in together besides those patches.
Doubt you can conceive anything in Chechnya, all the rebels need to do is send some women or children for recon.

This is not “a commando mortar” (the Russian army doesn’t use them), this is a usual 82-mm mortar 2B14 “Podnos” - http://warfare.ru/?lang=&linkid=2432&catid=240

The bedplate was unseen in one fragment of the video, but it is present. The mortar can be disassembled and carried in three parts – barrel (pack of 16.2 kg), bedplate (17 kg) and bipod (13.9 kg).
    Now the Russian army receives the new 82mm mortar 2B24 (45 kg, 100-6000 m) - http://www.burevestnik.com/products_engl/2b24.html

Lately “a commando mortar” has really appeared, 82-mm noiseless flameless 2B25 for special operations. But it has not been used during the Chechen war. Its weight is 13 kg, range is 300-1200 m, and it uses special non-standard shells.

Black? Are you sure? The Naval Infantry wear the same dark blue as the Fleet as they are all sailors!

Sometimes its hard to tell dark blue from black mind you...

redfox0035, desantnik85 thank you very much for the info. If it so effective, I'm curious why this is not used in the west?

Probably because too many people who could sign the cheques to buy them are too hung up on the Cold War...

Russia has many excellent military items (including some that are world beaters) but I've yet to see any Western government buy them....

You have to remember most arms deals are politically motivated - meaning careful choice about what sort of message you are sending your voters when you buy stuff.

What would happen say, if the US Air Force bought MiG instead of Northrop

This of course impossible couse of many lobbies in US. I thought rather that west could develop own, similiar technologies. But there is nos interest about protectionof the face? A statistic of wounds reported during combat matter? I don't know but I really would like know.
