Tracking 30 targets at distance from 300 to 450 km? Very nice.

They should upscale the Irbis to a Mig-31 sized antenna, that would be impressive I would think

Well, he (TR1) seemed to have concerns that russian planes will be compromised because of the sale. He said they are *almost* the same...They are not almost the same, they *are* the same. The biggest difference is that pilots maybe wanted to have stickers in the cockpit in Ukranian instead of Russian.

So, the systems on it will be as much revealed as if Medvedev himself sent an opperational UB from Russia.

BTW, the weapon systems are removed on them, othervise it could not be imported in private.

There are a number of Russian flankers that are Sm upgraded. So no, not 100% percent.

You are forgeting one thing. We are talking about Su-27UB.

You can't really compare Su-27SM with Su-27UB. Such things as engine and alloys will be as much revealed on UB as on Sm.

Well, you would actually need to downscale it. It is bloody massive. Correct me if i am wrong, but i think it is the biggest radar on fighters currently (or ever) in service. Not counting those on whatever ww2 planes.

30 targets and 300km + is great, but he didn't (not surprisingly at all) mention *what* size of the targets. Will it be able to spot a F-22 from 300 km, or an Awac from 300km? BIG difference.

BTW, he didnt say 300-450, he said 350-400km.

EDIT: Sorry, i totally misread about the MiG-31.

I found a graphic video, at 11:11 they show part of the shooting, but the BTR that is firing is not visible. Later the injured troop is carried into the BTR-80A.
There were also BTR-80 used in this raid.

    Yes, he said 350-400KM.

    Sukhoi has published that it's 3m2 @ 400KM.

    That's damn impressive.

So, just tell us - the russian speaking members will try to help you what you don't understand, we will try to help you with translation
BTW, those secret bears(i'm talking about russians) can keep secrets very well
Thankfully there are some ex-soviet union members who will save the day :P Russia has the technology, the ambitions to go more advanced, but it has not much money, maybe thats why economical crisis was started, to stop russians technological advantages comming real? and putting the rest of europe in crisis? well, i don't believe in it, but i could... the true is somewhere here -> pointing to the States...
Though i'm lithuanian and we are in NATO and EU, but i still respect our ex-occupyer and biggest enemy - Russia

sorry for OT. Russia strong, but Lithuania - the strongiest
