I believed these helicopters were destroyed by the advancing VDV forces. So they were destroyed by the Mi-24s....

    Also, your site mentions 2 x Mi-24 and 1 x Mi-14 destroyed at Senaki.

    Can you please clarify more?
    Thanks.

Actually, it was Makeyev who originally were designing the SLBM for the Borei (then Project 935) - the Bark (SS-NX-28)- which would also have rearmed the Typhoons - it was a much-modernized SS-N-20, AFAIK.

After numerous failures and MITT lobbying, the Bark was cancelled and Bulava took its place, there was a huge delay as the Borei was modified to take Bulava instead of Bark (hence Project 935 = Project 955) - and here we are - over ten years later, and Bulava doesn't work yet either.

It just goes to show how completely foolish they were to cancel the Bark. They gained nothing out of it.

A "fact" you just imagined or was told you by russian state media?

UN human development index rate Russia six places behind Belarus.
    http://hdr.undp.org/en/statistics/

The reasons are quite obvious: Belarus maintained social strucures and industry, instead of destroying them and transferring people's wealth to a few oligarchs.

    ? A sellout, provocateur, and a dictator.
    And what is russian government?
BTW in terms of selling out Jelzin/Putin/Medvedev are still unrivaled leaders.

Hardly anything for anyone to brag about. A welcome guest in the Eastern European club of Russia-bashers it seems. Sad if Belarus turns into another Ukraine/Georgia blaming Russia, USSR, Russian Empire for all it's sorrows.
So far Belarus is one of the few countries still friendly to Russia. But what you demonstrate is exactly the reason why the number of such countries shrinks.
