I still don't get it, can it actually fly?

Clearly intended to 'look' stealthy. Cool if it works I guess.
When I first saw it I thought of that little jet from james bond.

Looking at the video on the website it was interesting seeing it being launched on the back of a Mig-31. Wonder how that project to launch small satellites from Mig-31s is coming along. Now that anti satellite weapons are no longer banned I would expect more military interest in that project now.

What does Yak-130 carry on the end of the wings, ECM pods or just pods for flares?

Looks like Sorbtsia ECM pods, outmost pylons should also carry R-73 missiles. That's what happens when Army dominates trainer development...

Lots of fancy Sukhois and MiGs, but nothing is as graceful and beautiful as the Tupolev... they just don't build em like they used to.

Actually those ECM pods benefit from being fitted widely seperated and would be more effective on the wingtips than under the wings. As such it makes rather more sense to fit them there than anywhere else if possible. Note Flankers also carry them on the wingtips when carried too. It has something to do with seperating the jamming signals and also all round coverage.

Anyone have any photos of the static displays of these new RVV air to air missiles?

If I were to guess I would say the thing on top is an IFF interrogation system antenna.
(I don't actually know what it is this was a guess, but most indoor training units basically have some sort of laser window pointing a beam of IR light at a screen or something so the system can determine point of aim. This big thing on top... the only other things I have seen like it are IFF antennas and weapon mounted ranging radars. I still think IFF is most likely. )

The missile itself is an Igla-1, or SA-16. It has a wire pyramid at its nose instead of the later Igla and Igla-S which have an aerospike to improve supersonic flight performance with a round nose seeker.

GAzB, I am thinking it may been an indoors simulator/training unit. But I could be wrong.
