    Of course it's money. In serial production Relikt won't be more expensive then K-5, but retooling the factory will cost some millions which nobody wants to spend. T-90 wil be delivered with K-5 at least as long the soviet machines in the K-5 prodline still work.

    Of course it's money. In serial production Relikt won't be more expensive then K-5, but retooling the factory will cost some millions which nobody wants to spend.
    But they will eventually have to switch to more advanced ERAs especially with the planned introduction of the T-95 in the next following years. If they are reluctant to upgrade their production lines at present then the new T-95 might as well end up using the old K-5.

    If I had to guess, I'd say Relikt ERA is likely to be introduced when the next version of the T-90 (T-90B? T-90M? T-90U?) is introduced- we all know that in some ways the Rogatka upgrade for the T-72B and T-80B was superior to the T-90A - particularly in terms of its ERA coverage and it's muzzle reference system.
