And why do they have a chevron (<) behind the turrent? Chevrons symbols generally show NATO armor and vehicles.

Chevrons are used to distinguish Companies, Platoons and individual tanks. I don't know if it's a NATO thing but we use it also
Compared to the Ivan Rogov they carry more than 5 times more helos, yet half the number of tanks and half the number of troops. I think the Russians would call them helicopter carriers.Again, Mistral class are not "helicopter carriers"
They are amphibious assault, command and power projection ships
I think they would be very useful for disaster relief operations or to base foreign exercises from. They have modern hospital facilities and lots of Helo based transport. Put a couple of hovercraft in them and they will be quite impressive for a variety of roles.

Why not asking Russia to make tools to make spare parts and Russify those F-16's? they also can be used then as agressor planes in Russia if Russia deceides to trade them with MiG-35's.
That might be true but it seems that Bulava is especialy plagued with problems after problems from the beginning and honestly: Where any off the launches a succes? I doubt that... Hope that R-29RMU will be modernised with components from Topol-M and that induvidual warhead strength is increased.A submarine launched ballistic missile is not a simple thing to make. There are lots of military programs that had problems early on and went on to be very successful and capable in service.
Mmm hmmmm i get it. Thanks. The cost of tooling up for production and then producing enough rifles to put into service in significant numbers would be high at a time when the AKS-74M is already a pretty good rifle with no major faults or problems. Perhaps if there was a radical difference in performance like a balanced recoil bullpup that doubled the medium to long range accuracy then it might be worth the money and effort, or perhaps a step towards caseless ammo with a smoothbore barrel or liquid propellent or whatever.
I know that the SU-27M/35 is dead but i wanted to know what the state of the planes are. IMHO they should upgrade those planes to BM standard and/or aid Sukhoi in testing the 35BM further without building new ones. The Su-27M is pretty much dead but then the Su-27BM/Su-35 is rather considerably better and is going into production. There is no point ressurecting the Su-27M any more than there is any point in ressurecting the Mig-27K... the Mig-35 can do what the Mig-27K did in the light strike role and also perform the role of the Mig-23 in the air to air role too in one mission.
A MiG-35K onboard the Kuznetsov would be pretty potent. Especialy if SU-25's are easily converted to trainer/tanker/AWACS role for the moment. Latter is just whisfull thinking i know but still it would be cool.
Ok, still 2 open questions: Any new plans for new Cruisers? Why are the introduction/production dates of SU-35BM and MiG-35 kept pushing back?
Great Maks2009 perspective from really funny guys. Translation not important.

Great Su-35 pics, can't wait to see Sukhoi's T-50![]()
The last part of the exhibition pavilions section. The part includes mainly exhibits from foreign companies. There was just one pavilion for foreign companies from Europe, Asia and America. Ukraine also had one pavilion for engines and avionics.
I was quite dissapointed this year with Chinese exposition, it was very poor. Boeing showed just some models. Only maybe France and Israel sections were interesting.
